June 17 Monday
Functions exam. [around this time the guy at Ovide Park called the cop on us (drugs?). We escaped in the car just in time].
June 18 Tuesday
Brought Danny's canoe down from his place in Pierrefonds on the roof of my car. We went out on Lac St Louis, starting from Stuart Hall, went out towards the village. Out on the water we saw a spider floating in the air with no visible means of support.
Reread 'A Separate Peace' at this time.
June 19 Wednesday
Nite-at the Campsite [the first mention of the Campsite. It was a reaction against both our trips to the farm and the Drop-In. The main founders were Heather, Ralph, Tracy, Rachelle, Jerry, René etc. Outsiders were tolerated sometimes. It was in a wooded area south of the Trans-Canada west of St John's. Basically it was a clearing in the woods, later they built a small shelter, see October 11, 1974]. Many people, I did acid. At the quarry [nearby] I rolled a large tire over the edge, and listened to it hit the bottom.
Near the beginning of the summer, in my basement, we agreed to remember that night to show how fast summer goes by. Everyone did and later agreed it did.
For a while, it seemed every time we'd look at a clock, it said '5 to 10'. Maggie and I noticed this at Ovide Park...
June 22 Saturday
Sue's wedding to Max in Roxboro. [she had known Max before Paul in the late '60's.]
Went to Dave's after. [it was on a trip to Dave's that I saw he was listening to The New York Dolls, at that time too faggy for me. Though they owed more to the Rolling Stones than was good for them (including heroin), they were one of the pre-punk bands. Dave also listened to Queen and Iggy Pop...]
June 25 Tuesday
Bought 1/2 gram of oil (more like 1 gram) with Dave, from Kevin [Dave and I made splifs, spreading the oil out on papers, a common practice at this time. I think they sold for $2 each].
June 27 Thursday
Nite-drove Foster, Fred, Ernie and Dave into town [and went to the park on the side of the mountain where now they hold the Tam-Tam Sundays] to score oil. Saw a fire from the park [looking east] (121), walked over and checked it out [the firefighters were striking at this time].
June 28 Friday
Gram more [of oil. I think Dave and I smoked more of the splifs than we sold].
121. Towards the Plateau Mont-Royal. I never dreamed I would live there one day...
