From the Gazette review by Bill Mann:

"You almost had to look twice to make sure your eyes weren't deceiving you - there, on stage at the Forum, were two cellos. During a rock concert!

Plus a violin. But it's all standard equipment for England's Electric Light Orchestra, and Friday night's show before 7,000 was off to an unorthodox start with an unorthodox band...

...Winter was here with guitarist Rick Derringer, and, as one Montreal musician put it, "I haven't seen anyone since Jimi Hendrix who plays guitar as well and looks as good doing it." Derringer, with a new solo album out, is about to emerge as a major talent on his own..."

Mescaline on November 3rd and 8th.

(Andy's) November 3, Saturday

Up to Fairview this afternoon.

Over to Alan's tonight, got stoned and watched a movie on television. Phil was there-he's moved to Saint Laurent and taken my bike with him.

November 8 Thursday

Picture booth photos taken at Fairview of Terry (the only ones), Sue, Mike Sawyer (the only ones) and Pete (again the only ones).

(Andy's) November 8, Thursday

Brad, John + me came over to my place this afternoon. Bob showed up later. Sue, Heather, Louise and Michel came over too, all of them really tripping.

Went up to Fairview tonight-smoked some hash with Louise, Michel and Paul. Then we thumbed to Alan's but he hadn't arrived yet - he was coming down with alot people! We were waiting outside (it was cold!) when they came so we burned off down the path to smoke. Then Sue + Heather came from the opposite direction so he hopped a wooden fence and hid behind there, smoking. Jan and Bev were also at Alan's.

November 9 Friday

Went downtown with Terry (110), Scott and Pete. I got a large pipe, and got a shock through it as the sales girl passed it to me. Coffee house in Dollard that night (?).

(Andy's) November 9, Friday

Did a half tab of Green Pyramid tonight and I didn't get off. Went up to Fairview (again) + did a little drinking with Sue, Louise, Heather, Michel, Pat, Danny, Bob + Larry by the "stoned duck" at Eaton's. When nearly everybody had gone back in, a Brinks truck came up on the upper parking lot, near us. Bob + Larry asked them if they wanted a drink-they just smiled and called in an Eaton's security guard.

He came up just when Larry and I were pissing and kicked us out. We finished outside.

We went back into Fairview-almost nobody was there because it was about 9:40. Bob and Larry pulled a tough on two guys because one told Larry to shut up about something. Bob pushed one of them against a booth in the mall and a piece of plastic on the wall snapped. They said they were going to get a security guard so we burned off.

Bob + Jerry Burke + me went to some party near [?]. I didn't know anybody there so Jerry + me split home.

(Andy's) November 10, Saturday (111)

Fairview this afternoon (arrrgh!)

Larry, me, Bob, Brad went up to the drop-in tonight. Larry, me + Bob bought a case of 12 quarts. Jerry Burk was there with his group. Not too bad. Alot of people. There was a bus parked in the Cummons place and on the way back we turned on every light switch on it, inside, outside, blinkers, parking, etc.
