Letter from Gillian (to Ralph) postmarked Lennoxville, 3:30 PM, 12 X, 1973. Written on a sheet of looseleaf.

Dear Ralph;

Excuse the paper. I didn't know you hated writing letters but I sort guessed by now. I was surprised. I thought you liked writing them. Anyway, now I know. How is life at John Rennie? Fun as ever? I will be seeing you in less than a month, when I come home on our November weekend, which starts Sat, 3 to Wednesday, 7. Pretty good eh? I hope their [sic] is some good dope when I get back because (as I've always promised), I am going to buy an ounce. I hope the goodies are on their way. I am getting impatient I want them for Thanksgiving Saturday (tomorrow) or if worst comes to worst- Thanksgiving Monday. So please tell them to hustle. I am getting really bored. Nothing ever happens here that's worth telling, which makes it pretty hard to write an interesting letter but after your letter you should be able to sympathize. Now I'm just waiting for Alan to write. Supposedly he has written but cannot afford a stamp which seems pretty untypical. He always is so loaded. Tell the next person to write me, to send me Phil's adress [sic].

I just thought I'd tell you that I am mad because this pen blots and I hate blotty ballpoint pens. They are a big bummer. [There is no evidence of any inkblots in the letter.] In you're [sic] letter, you failed to cover all points of interest such as: Are you going out with someone? Do you still like Pat? Does Heather still like you? Is Andy still going out with Sue? and other such questions of federal importance. I freaked out when I saw your parents + Danielle on Sunday

Bye for now

Write as soon as

you can hack.

Lot's of love

from

Gillian

(Andy's) October 13, Saturday

Drop-in again. Fairly ripped. I just cruised around, as usual. Near the end of the night Jan comes up to me, sits on my knee + kisses me. Shock. I hitched on to her.

Letter written October 13, 1973 from Danielle to Gillian

Dear Gillian:

Hi. I told you I wasn't going to send you the other letter so I'm not. It's mainly because that letter is all complaints.

The news: Larry got an apartment and his lease isn't being renewed next month. Don is out of the Reform school (at the pen) for stealing a car. Ralph saw him today. Andy broke off with Sue a couple of weeks back.

Right now I'm watching the Hockey game Montreal and Vancouver. My parents are at the game. They got tickets from our neighbours. Today was pretty good. I did a lot of bicycling. First to Cedar park with Simone who was looking for leaves. And after that just biking around. I decided to see if Leslie wanted to go biking for awhile. We ended up at Don's house where we (I) met Mrs Dowden and some of the kids. It was Russel Dowden's birthday (he's 14). He really looks alot like Don. He's just a little shorter (in height) and his face is a bit younger. The hair is the same and it really shocked Leslie. I biked for about 3 hours. Boy am I tired!

Our family is having a cold passed around. It's only a minor one but it's had me, Ralph, & it's starting on my mother.

School's going all right. We keep on having firedrills. When the firemen checked us we did it in 2 minutes 15 seconds. You missed 'The Groundstar Conspiracy" unless you have a T.V. somewhere. It was pretty good I saw it on channel 8 on Saturday & on channel 5 on Monday. (That was a couple of weeks ago).

What school is Abby going to? How's your school? What's that type of school life like? (try to be unbiased).

Well "c'est ca"

See ya

Love Danielle

I can't say anything about Ralph cause he already wrote you.

P.S. It was nice seeing you in Lenoxville! Who was your friend? How are the people over there?
