Thursday, 15 March

Went to Donna's at night. Dave brought his record player. Dave, Alan, Andy, Bob Kerr, Chuck (Maggie) were there [I have no idea why Maggie's name appears in brackets after Chuck's- I assume this was meant to be some sort of cue as to Chuck's identity, but I'm not really sure]. We smoked up on the balcony a couple of times. Dave and I stood out quite a while spitting down on the pavement five floors below. I threw a paint brush from the balcony and it landed on a [parked] car. Dave threw a can of paint on[to] the parking lot [marginal note: "9:00 watched last episode of `Clochemerle'"]. At around 10:00 we all went down to the pool and Bob and Donna went swimming. Alan, Dave, Andy and I decided to walk around in the garage. Alan had the key to get back into the sauna and pool area but we lost him so Dave, Andy and I decided to get to the indoor pool through the outdoor pool [the two were separated by huge sliding glass doors] which required the climbing of one fence. Andy was slow and only beginning to climb the fence when Dave and I were approaching the glass. I walked directly to the glass door but Dave jumped over a snow bank and disappeared into the outdoor pool [which, oddly enough, had not been drained for the winter, although the surface was frozen and covered with snow. I assume Dave's leap broke the surface- its a wonder that so many of us survived to reach legal drinking age]. He started yelling that he was drowning but he managed to get out by himself [I remember thinking that I ought to help him but I was overcome by the hilarity of his vanishing act through the snow and into the pool]. Bob, who had seen all this from inside, couldn't stop laughing. Donna let us all in. I found Alan in the garage. We went back up and Andy, Alan and I left. Dave decided to stay the night cause his mother wouldn't pick him up [to say nothing of the fact that he was drenched].
